Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) is a national charity committed to reducing the number of children and young people who are killed, disabled or seriously injured as a result of accidents. The Trust has played a vital role in raising awareness in the scalding issue and are primary sponsors of the 'Hot Water Burns Like Fire' Campaign.

The Children's Fire and Burn Trust (CFBT) is committed to providing support for burn and scald injured children and their families. The Trust also runs education and public awareness programmes designed to prevent these injuries. The Hot Water Burns like Fire campaign was launched on the 14th September by Wakefield MP Mary Creagh. The aim is to persuade the Government to introduce legislation to restrict the outlet temperatures for baths to 48°C in England and Wales. These regulations already apply in Scotland.
