Background

• With its swimming pool, spa, gym and steam room, the family-run Four Seasons Health and Leisure Club, offers unrivalled leisure facilities in the beautiful country setting of South Wales.
• Located in Nantgaredig, near county town Carmarthen, the club promotes an active lifestyle for all the family. Serving the local community, the leisure club is the only one of its kind in the area. It's a popular place for people of all ages to keep fit and relax.
• Six years ago, club owner Stewart Williams took over the business - originally an agricultural building transformed into a leisure centre - and has turned the premises into the successful venture it is now.
• On refurbishing certain of its facilities, the club specified a new-to-market Douglas Controls Thermostatic Shower Panel for ensuring the showering comforts of its 300 plus members.
• An aesthetically pleasing solution for any group-showering environment, the club was the first in the UK to have the Thermostatic Shower Panel installed.
• As part of an extensive refurbishment of the club's steam room and changing facilities, Mr Wilson was seeking more cost-efficient water usage, to avoid wastage, and still enable users to enjoy high performance showering.
• User adjustment of shower temperature was seen as important especially after a hot workout in the gym - or time relaxing in the steam room.
• Product's design was crucial too - it needed to be self-controlled and complement the modern styling of the club facilities.

Solution

• Having read about the quality of Douglas Controls products in an industry magazine, Mr Williams turned to the company to supply a thermostatically controlled shower unit, giving the user the flexibility of controlling the temperature they required - rather than it being set to a pre-determined level.
• The 792 Series Thermostatic Shower Panels tested and certified TMV3, and incorporating a time flow operation and low maintenance showerhead, was the Douglas Controls solution to meet the required specification.
• Full thermostatic control - the thermostatic shower valve offers user adjustment between 38-43oC, providing total fail-safe shutdown in the event of loss of cold water.
• The product's in-built anti-scald thermostatic cartridge ensures members could shower in safety and comfort.
• On-off control is by reliable Tempostop time flow operation set for a nominal 30 seconds run time. The run can be extended by depressing the push button at any time.
• The round anti-vandal showerhead has an integral 8 litre per minute flow regulator and scale resistant nozzle jet, which offering restricted articulation, can be locked by the installer for use in a limited 'wet area.'
